Yay, another hands on with a new(ish) product. This time we’re looking at Toshiba’s new “rugged” 399.99 netbooks. This is a very solid netbook, both conceptually and physically. It’s only rugged compared to other netbooks, but that’s a huge difference. It has a full sized keyboard with good travel and feels like a real keyboard instead of a toy. I pound my keys, and this feels like it could really hold up to my abuse. It’s really more of a mini-notebook than a netbook in some ways, as it can have a decently large HD and RAM. It’s supposed to have a nine hour battery rating, but we know that’s “in a perfect world”. It comes in black, white, and “posh pink”, in just the right shade to make my 8 year old say “Oh CUTE!”.
