How could I not report on this. Everyone is talking about it. So it would seem silly not to fill the digital space of MOpocket with the same stuff.
Its confirmed. Apple is working together with Japanese Web and telecom conglomerate Softbank Corp (the guys who bought Vodafone’s Japanese business) to build an iPhone, a mobile telephone with built-in iPod music players. The phone will be able to download songs from Apples iTunes music store directly over the networks and act just like a normal iPod (which you can also use to call someone).
The first ITune phones, Motorola’s ROCKR and SLVR, could only store up to 1000 songs which had to be uploaded to from a PC or Mac.
Its clear what happened. Phone manufactures approached Apple and said, “Hey, we could put your iTunes into our phone.”
But Steve Jobs was like, “Yeah, But I can put your phone into my iPod.”
No word on whether or not Apple will be branding its own MVNO (virtual network) with the phone).
And the reality of the iPhone obsession begins!
